December 26: The body of Jingai "Mimi" Zhang (49) was found in a home in Wellington St Launceston on Boxing Day. She had been asphyxiated. Tobias Pick (27), a German backpacker, was found guilty in 2022 of manslaughter and one count of stealing. December 22: At around 9.15 am police were called to a property in Townsville where they found the bodies of Rebecca Walker (45) and a man believed to be her former partner Shane Jackson(48) inside. Police say their five-year-old son, who was physically unharmed, raised the initial alarm to members of the public who then called for help. Police allege Jackson murdered Ms Walker before killing himself.

December 20: Police were called to a hotel on Macquarie Street in Liverpool just after midday, after receiving information concerning a woman's welfare. Officers found the body of the woman, formally identified in court documents as Ms Bodak, inside a hotel room. Ronald Roshan (34) attended Liverpool police station after Ms Bodak’s body was found. December 17: At 3pm police were called to a home in Parkinson to conduct a welfare check. Inside they found the bodies of Zoe Antill (86) and her husband Maurice (87), both of whom had suffered severe injuries. Raghe Abdi (22) who was shot dead by police on the Logan Motorway was stated to be "directly linked" to the double murder. No further information is available at this time.

Just after 3:30am in the morning, two bodies were found after emergency services extinguished a housefire in Kingsbury, Melbourne. An extensive police inquiry was undertaken. In April 2022 a coroner’s findings were published with pseudonyms used. It was established that Mrs A (77) was killed by her husband Mr B (75) by blunt force injury and neck compression. December 15: At about 9am police attended a home in Katoomba after receiving a concern for welfare report. On entering the home officers found the body of Maria Ratke (71) stabbed to death in a bedroom. Police she may have been dead up to six days before being discovered. Her husband Heinz Ratke (73) was found non-responsive in the home. The bodies of Abbey Forrest (19), her partner, known as Indi, and whose name has been reported as both Inderpal Singh and Inda Sohal (25 or 28) and their daughter Ivy (19 days) were found after they had died in a house fire in Point Cook, Melbourne. Police have charged Jenny Hayes (46) with murder and arson.

Police were called to the Jingili Water Gardens in Darwin, where they found a 20-year-old woman, unnamed for cultural reasons, dead from multiple stab wounds. Her partner Warren Dhamarrandji (36) was arrested at the scene and charged with murder. Emergency services were called to a house at Narre Warren at about 1:00pm. There they found Channa Tep (42) who died of stab wounds at the scene. A 70-year old woman and a three-year-old girl are in hospital with serious injuries. Ms Tep's son (15) was arrested at the scene and is also being treated for serious injuries. At about midday emergency services were called to a unit in Fairfield after concerns were raised for a woman's welfare. On arrival they found Samr Dawoodi (42) suffering critical injuries; despite resuscitation attempts the woman, as yet unidentified, died at her home. Her husband Salam Dawoodi (60) was arrested at the scene and has been charged with murder. Catherine Thomas (66) was last seen alive while taking her daily afternoon walk with her husband Maurice. At some time over the next 24 hours she was killed by gunshot in her own bed at home in California Gully. The body of her husband was found in the living room. In the the early hours of the morning, the body of Celeste Manno (23) was found in her home at Mernda. Luay Sako (35) a former work colleague of Ms Manno, handed himself in to the local police station and pleaded guilty to her murder. Police were called to a home in Balga at 1.40am following a reported disturbance. There they found a 39-year-old woman with serious injuries who was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital but died shortly after. She has not yet been officially identified. Nicole Sandy (38), a relative of the deceased woman, was taken into custody and charged with her murder. Police were called to Wanarn community, about 800 km north-east of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, following the reported death of a woman (54) after an argument with her partner, Brian McIntyre (50), who drove at her and struck her with his Landcruiser. On November 13th police charged him with murder, later downgraded to manslaughter. On June 29th 2023 he was sentenced to 7 years and 3 months backdated. November 6:
At about 7pm, emergency services found the lifeless body of Jessica Geddes (27) inside a home in Endeavour Hills in Melbourne. In April 2022, after an extensive investigation, her ex-partner Robert Rickerby (28) was arrested in Brisbane and charged with murder. The body of a woman Lisa Hund (36) was found by her mother in a house on Kepnock Rd, Kepnock . Emergency services declared her dead at 8:50am. October 22:
Angela Berecz (53) died on her houseboat in Blanchetown. Her partner found her unresponsive in her recliner chair at 5:45am on the morning and administered CPR, but she could not be revived. Ms Berecz suffered from health issues and was mostly confined to her houseboat, but was not at risk of imminent death. Initially, her death was not considered suspicious, but further investigation has led police to declare a murder investigation in January 2022. The body of Lynda Greenwood (39) was found by neighbours in the driveway of a block of units in Como in the early hours of the morning. She had suffered extensive blunt force wounds and stab wounds to her upper body. Jason Lloyd (39) who had been in an "on and off again" relationship with Ms Greenwood and was subject to an AVO (Apprehended Violence Order) was arrested on the day. Emergency services were called to a unit in Wentworthville, Sydney at 2:40am to attend an injured woman, Sabah Hafiz (23). On arrival police and ambulance officers found she had already died. Kate Bell (31) was found critically injured in her partner's flat in Richmond. She died at the scene. The body of Rahul Patel (29) was found at the base of his work premises 40 minutes after he called emergency services to attend to Ms Bell. At about 9.20am emergency services attended a house in Glenfield following reports an unconscious 66-year-old woman had been found inside. The so far unnamed woman was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition and died the following day. Shortly after the woman was found, police attended a single-vehicle collision in which a car had collided with a concrete wall. The 67-year-old driver, believed to be the woman’s partner, was transported to Liverpool Hospital with serious chest and leg injuries. Emergency crews were called to a unit in East Lismore, where they found the body of a 60-year-old woman, yet to be formally identified. Yesterday a 32-year-old woman, also unnamed, was arrested and charged with murder and improperly interfering with a corpse. Just before midnight police were called to a rural property at Mount McIntyre, north-west of Mount Gambier. There they found the bodies of Chelsea Ireland (19) and her partner Lucasz Klosowski , also 19, dead from gunshot wounds. In the early hours of the morning, police were called to reports of an altercation at Matthew Street, Nambour (Qld). On arrival they found Aysha Baty (31) lying on the road and suffering "horrific" head and chest injuries. Despite best efforts of police and paramedics Ms Baty died at the scene. Police officers using tracker dogs searched the area and found Dylan Wilson (34), not known to Ms Baty, at the Nambour Hospital. He was taken into custody and has been charged with murder. In the early hours of the morning, police were called to a home in St James, east of Perth, where they found CarolCameron (63) with multiple stab injuries. Ms Cameron was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital, where she later died. Her son, Callum Cameron (27) was arrested at the property and has been charged with her murder. In the early hours of the morning Lorraine Bird (73) was found dead on the forks of a tractor at a remote property in Hedley, Victoria. Her son Trent Bird (43) was taken to hospital under police guard after receiving serious injuries in a car crash in Hedley earlier in the night. He was charged with murder and found not guilty by reason of mental impairment in October 2021. He is still awaiting a bed at a secure psychiatric facility. Emergency units were called to a unit in Oatlands, NSW, where they found Daiane Pelegrini (32) suffering multiple severe stab wounds. Despite best efforts of responders and hospital staff, she died later in Westmead Hospital. Daniel Tran (25) who was known to Ms Pelegrini was arrested at the scene. Beryl Field (84) died in hospital 16 days after being assaulted in her own home near Geelong, Victoria. Her grandson Nicholas Field (38) assaulted Ms Field while high on magic mushrooms. He pleaded guilty to her manslaughter.

On July 29 police were called to bushland near Menai, NSW, after the body of Namja Carroll (33) was found by a member of the public. Ms Carroll is reported to have suffered severe head injuries, and an attempt had been made to burn her body. In April 2021 Robert Sloan (57) and Benjamin Parkes (43), both known to Ms Carroll, were arrested at Silverwater Prison and charged with her murder. In March 2024 Parkes was found guilty. Police found the body of Elaine Pandilovski (44) at about 9.30pm when doing a welfare check at her home in Mill Park. Family had been unable to contact Ms Pandilovski after she failed to turn up for work that morning. Her estranged husband Zoran Pandilovski (45) was arrested later after being involved in a head-on car crash. He has been charged with murder. Police found the body of Liqun Pan (19) in a unit complex in Wolli Creek, dead from unspecified severe injuries. Police first attended the complex on June 27 after her partner Weijie He (20) jumped from the 4th floor balcony of the unit and was admitted to hospital. Emergency services were called to a home in Rockhampton, Queensland, just before 7:00 pm. Karen Gilliland (42) was treated at the scene for extensive stab wounds to the neck and abdomen, but despite all resuscitation efforts died a short time later. Her ex-husband Nigel Gilliland (45) was taken into custody after fleeing the scene and taken to Rockhampton Hospital suffering what police believe were self-inflicted wounds. He has been charged with Ms Gilliland's murder. Two children who witnessed the stabbing were physically unharmed and have been taken into care. In the early hours of the morning police were called to a home in Metford, where they found the body of Emerald Wardle (18) inside the house. Her partner, Jordan Miller (20), was arrested at the scene and has been charged with her murder. In March 2022 he pleaded not guilty due to psychosis, but was found guilty and sentenced to 20 years. Police were called by worried family to a house in West Sydney, where they found Gabriella Delaney (20) dead from 'confronting' injuries. It is believed that she may have been killed on June 3rd. Police and ambulance were called to reports of a stabbing at a home in Bidwill, Western Sydney. Outside the home they found Ruth Mataafa (22) with stab wounds to chest, side and back. She was treated at the scene, but later died of her injuries in hospital. Her ex-partner Jaciah Fuimaono (22) was found dead inside the house with self inflicted chest wounds. A coronial inquest confirmed that Mr Fuimaono had stabbed Ms Mataafa before taking his own life. Police were called to a home in Bicton after a family member discovered the body of Colleen Rebelo (58). Her death was not initially treated as suspicious and she was cremated shortly afterwards. In November 2022, after an extensive police inquiry, her son Andre Rebelo (26) was arrested and charged with her murder. Inside the house they found the body of Karen Leek (69), dead from what police describe as a ‘very violent crime’. At about 6.30 pm police and emergency services were called to a home at Quakers Hill, Sydney, where they found Kamaljeet Sidhu (27) suffering a stabbing injury. Despite efforts of paramedics, she sadly died soon after. Her husband Baltej Lailna (31) was arrested at the scene with minor injuries and was charged with her murder. Just before 2:00pm the bodies of Loris Puglia (59) and her husband Franco (59) were discovered at a residence in Joyner, north of Brisbane. At about 6.30 pm, in collaboration with Queensland police, NSW officers arrested their son, Christopher Puglia (31), on Sydney's northern outskirts 900 km away from the crime scene. At about 4.15 pm, police were called to a home at Cable Beach, where they found an unnamed woman (44) with serious head injuries. She was taken by ambulance to hospital but could not be saved and died later that day from her injuries. In the early hours of the morning, police were called to a property at Bendoc in East Gippsland. There they found the body of an unnamed 65-year-old woman. In the early hours of the morning, police found the body of Britney Watson (18) in a wheelie bin outside Newman Hospital (WA). The circumstances leading up to this tragic discovery are not yet known. Police found the body of Ella Price (26) at a townhouse in Park St, South Melbourne. They believe she may have been dead “for a number of days” following a stabbing assault during which her throat was cut. After an extensive manhunt her partner Riccardo Barbaro (33) was apprehended in NSW, extradited to Victoria and charged with her murder on May 14. Two trials were abandoned for legal reasons. Police responded to a welfare call and attended a home at Woodcroft, west of Sydney, where they found the body of Erlinda Songcuan (69) in the garage. After a short search with the aid of a police helicopter, her husband Engracio Songcuan (73) was located at Richmond railway station. He was taken into custody and has been charged with murder. Emergency services were called to a home in Narangba, Queensland, where they found Jacqueline Sturgess (45) dead from a sledgehammer blow to the head. Police believe that she may have been murdered on April 28, but they were not called until a day later. Her ex-husband Shaun Sturgess (50) was charged with murder – domestic violence offence. In June 2023 a jury was unable to agree on a verdict and was discharged. In September 2023 a second jury was discharged for legal reasons. Kobie Parfitt (43) was last seen alive at a property in Hickman Street, Ballarat. Police believe she was murdered that same day. Her remains were found in a mineshaft in December 2020. At about 4pm emergency services were called to a home in Hocking, WA, where they found Lesley Taylor (64) dead from ‘significant injuries’ after a reported dispute. Her husband, Michael Taylor (65) was also injured and died in ICU 3 days later. Myles Taylor (34), son of the deceased, was arrested at the scene and charged with murder. Just after midday, police and emergency units were called were called to a home in Morphett Vale by a person concerned for the woman who lived there. Inside, they found Kim Murphy (35) dead, and evidence of violent homicide. At about 10pm detectives arrested Ms Murphy's ex-partner (38), who has not been named, and charged him with her murder. Police and emergency units were called to a unit in Victoria Park, Perth, after reports of a disturbance. Inside they found the bodies of Maree Collins (67) and her brother Wayne Johnson (62). Luke Fawcett (27), a neighbour living in the same apartment block, has been found guilty of both murders. Ann Marie Smith, 54, lived with cerebral palsy and was receiving home care. She died at the Royal Adelaide Hospital on April 6 from septic shock and multi-organ failure, after undergoing major surgery to remove rotting flesh from pressure sores on her body. Ms Smith was an NDIS participant. In March 2022 care worker Rosie Maione was found guilty of manslaughter by criminal neglect. March 20:
Carol Clay (73) was last heard from at the remote Wonnangatta Valley campsite in the Victorian high country. A large and exhaustive police investigation followed, and in November 2021 human remains were found near Dargo, along with other items linking to Ms Clay and her companion Russell Hill (74). Identification was confirmed in February 2022. In late November 2021 Greg Lynn (55) was arrested and in January 2023 was committed to stand trial on 2 counts of murder. In June 2024 he was found guilty of Ms Clay's murder.

February 22:
Police called to a home in Granville St, Pimlico, a suburb of Townsville at about 1am found Samantha Bong (49) who had died after being stabbed several times. Her brother Dennis Sore (40) has been charged with one count of murder (domestic violence offence) and has pleaded not guilty. Residents of the Brisbane suburb of Camp Hill, investigating explosions found a car on fire in their street. Hannah Clarke (31) was taken to hospital in a critical condition with severe burns where she died in the early evening. Her three children (aged 3,4 and 6) died at the scene in the car fire. February 8: Emergency services were called to a house fire in Chermside in the early hours of Wednesday February 4th, where they found three adults and two children suffering from smoke inhalation. Alexis Parkes (50) was resuscitated by paramedics at the scene before she was taken to hospital, where she died four days later. Her partner, James Mason (43), was found guilty of her murder. February 4: Emergency services were called to a home in Seaford, Melbourne, where Noeline Dalzell (49) was found with stab wounds. Despite all efforts of paramedics she died at the scene. At about 1 am, police were called to a house in Woolooware, Sydney, where they found an unnamed 42-year-old woman with multiple stab wounds in the back. She was treated at the scene but died later in hospital. A boy (16), believed to be her stepson, was arrested at the scene and charged with her murder. Police were called to a house in Heidelberg West over an aggravated burglary. Maude Steenbek (61) died at the scene of multiple stab wounds. Her neighbour Xochil O’Neill (28) is alleged to have broken into the house before assaulting her while she was making a Skype call. January 19:
Just after midday a man walked into Mirrabooka Police Station and reported an incident at a nearby block of units in Balcatta. When police entered one of the units they found Ruqia Haidari (20) with serious injuries. She was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital, where she later died. Her husband Mohammed Ali Hamili (25) has pleaded guilty to her murder. Three people were charged in October 2020 with causing Ms Haidari to enter a forced marriage. Emergency services were called to bushland near Lightning Ridge, where they found the body of Christine Neilan (39), dead due to serious head injuries. Ms Neilan was last seen on January 08. The body of Kimberley McRae was found in her Coogee unit on 14th January up to a week after she was last seen on either 7th or 10th January. In early March 2020 Colombian national Hector Valencia (20) was arrested on the Caribbean island of Aruba. He was extradited to Australia in November 2020 and charged with murder.
